The River pg 30 -45

In Chapter three we can see how there is a leuteunant, looking for a priest all over a banana plantation, The Fellows plantation. Captain Fellows the head of the family, has a wife, and his daughter called Coral, she is a very self centered girl, who has very clear what she believes in, and does not judge people easily. The priest, the leutunant was looking for, was efectively hiding in the banana plantation. Coral hided him, and also feaded him. "He came last night and Coral let him sleep on the Verdana." Pg 32 We can also see how coral is very brave, and actually tries not to care in what others believe in, but she cares what she believes in. "She dressed out her fear, so that she could look at it." Pg 33 In the contrary of Coral, I can persive her mother is more coward, and is kind of a winy person, which isnt in confort with anything. "I tell you I had fever, Mrs Fellows wailed , I felt so terribly ill. Coral goes where the priest is, and she starts to talk to him, and she listens without judging his words and intentios, eventhough everyone was against religion.. The leuteunant was the same Leuteunant persecuting all the priests in chapter two. He is capable of doing anything just to reach his objective, which was to eliminate every priest posible.

I really liked this chapter, because it shows a difference of attitude between persons, I refer to Coral she thinks and believes different to her parents, and to the majority of the people, who regect religion. She has a different attitude, and she shows herself in an empatic way towards the priest. In this chapter we can also see how there was people of the village trying to confess their sins with the priest, and there was even a person who wanted his child to be baptised.
