From chapters 4 to 7 of The Stranger, onw thing I realized is that men are very sexist, even the police his "girlfriend" marie, is totally in love with him and he is not. She called him once and asked him to marry her, and he said it was fine, she asked him if he lo9ved her in several ocassions and he said he didnt yhink so, so she asked him why was he going to marry her, he said he didnt care. They went to a beach house to raymonds friend. They swam together and he felt the connection, and felt like finally marring, but he is not in love with her. When I say he is sexist, i say it because once in his house Raymond was with a women and he beat her. She called the police and she told them what had happen, they called Raymond and asked him something but they wernt pissed because of the fact he had beaten a woman because they talked to him and he answered with a cigarrette in his mouth. He later asked Meursault to please testiffy and say he beat the women because she had cheated on him, so I concluded that the police where sexist because they didnt care the woman was beaten, Meursault, because he testiffied against the inoscent woman, and obviousley because of the way he treated Marie.

Is Mercault sexist?
An interesting accusation, yet you need much more support. Look to cite lines, etc. I foward to the next blogs. Also, every entry should only cover 15-20. We are analyzing in depth.

Carolina, you are very right. I also notices the way the police was so easy going with Raymond. We also have to take into account the year of the novel. I'm not 100% positive but maybe by the time the novel was written, being sexist was very common (among men).
